Volunteers make a difference in the lives of abused and neglected children every day. Sometimes, it is the value of a promise kept: Your GAL telling you she will be there next Friday to visit and really being there. Sometimes, it is the caring adult that they haven't had in their lives before: An adult that takes the time to really listen to what you are saying. Sometimes, it is trusting a person to speak up for you: And sometimes, it is knowing that your GAL is always there for you: Your case worker might change, you might go to a new foster home or a new school, but your GAL will always be there. |
